Please Get the Popcorn...It's Movie Time!

Though today is practically summer -- we're expecting temperatures in the low 70's -- we've had some cooler days and definitely cooler nights. Daylight savings time is about to end and I know I'll be staying inside a lot more, especially in the evenings. One of my favorite activities is watching movies and I'm always on the lookout for fun movies. Thanks to my friends at Gaiam Vivendi Entertainment I came across a Hallmark Channel original film I had missed when it was first shown in 2007. It's "You've Got a Friend." It's a sweet and endearing film about Bobby Graham (Dylan McLaughlin) who after the death of his parents goes to live with his aunt and uncle. He's helped in his Soapbox Derby efforts by Jim Keclan (John Schneider), the town recluse. The focus is family, friendship and holding on to a dream. It's the movie to watch curled up in an afghan with a cup of cocoa. Thanks, friends at Vivendi!

I'm having a quiet day today. A few errands this afternoon and lots of blog visits. I'll be out for a walk later and enjoy the beautiful weather. Now that I'm up and about more I find it easy to overdo and this is my day to catch up on magazines, make soup and enjoy the autumn leaves. Hope your day has lots of the same!

That sounds like a good movie. I like Hallmark Channel movies a lot, especially the holiday ones.

I love the Hallmark channel and it's original movies are usually always good ones. Family type movies that anyone can watch. I don't think I caught that one so will have to be on the look out for it. It's a dark dreary day in Ohio. One that makes me want to make a pot of soup too. I'm thinking potato soup, but it could turn out to be something completely different as chicken soup sounds good too. Enjoy your beautiful day and don't over do.

I may have just amended our plans for supper! It's still too warm for homemade soup, but a feel-good movie and big bowl of popcorn sounds just right.
Enjoy your day!

It's a beautiful day here, too. As you are doing, I will run a very few errands this afternoon. Generally I don't go to the grocery store on Saturday but to get the frozen items we need, today works better than after work did this week. However, most of my time will be at home. My husband is leaving for Knoxville in a few minutes to watch a football game with friends.

Wishing you a splendid Autumn day.

Sounds like a film Mrs M. would enjoy - maybe one to go on her Christmas list.
Love Autumn, enjoy as much as we will.

Thank you Buttercup, I like good family movies also. I will be looking for this one. In winter when gets dark so early, it can be depressing, so we need to have feel good things around. Yes, to the warm blanky and cocoa.Smiles, Susie

You never know what effect your blog will have on others. While I'm not inclined to seek out the movie, I'm really thinking about going to get some popcorn!

That does sound like a good movie. Something the whole family could watch.

That little purse below is adorable.

It is going to be warm here this week too - crazy weather.

That sounds like a great day Buttercup. Oh how I'd love a few more warm days, here in Eastern Europe autumn is hasty indeed.

Thanks for the tip! When it gets cold and messy out, I start searching for good movies. Sometimes I fall asleep before they're over, but that just means I get to watch them for the first time ... again! ha!
