Pinterest HealthFest -- Sweet Dreams!

Once again Pinterest Healthfest, a Friday feature, appears on Saturday. Once again, it was delayed so I could  get a good night's sleep. My goal was a success. I went to bed at 10:00 last night and spent very little time on the computer, but I slept well. I did wake up several times during the night, but I was able to turn over and not get out of bed until 7:30 am. A complete success!

Until the official dawn of middle age in my early fifties I was a great sleeper. After that I became very well acquainted with three o'clock in the morning, and I didn't enjoy it. I was grateful to have avoided hot flashes, but sleeplessness was my particular symptom. Gradually several years ago I noted that I was spending less time between two a.m. and five a.m. at the computer or tossing on the couch, but the days when I could go to bed at night and wake up in the morning were gone. I am so grateful for a night with only one quick trip to the bathroom. I am working diligently to get at least six hours sleep and generally am succeeding.

When I think about feeling healthy I think about getting enough sleep. Is this something that's an issue for others in Buttercupland?

I'm having a totally relaxed day today, with no commitments. I am hoping to walk to Michael's and Whole Foods for a little healthy shopping and later do some blog visiting. The sun is shining brightly and it's a great day to be outside. Wishing you a bright and sunny Saturday and sweet dreams tonight!

Glad your getting better at sleeping. I have for years now spent half the night waking up at all hours trying my best just to go back to sleep.
It ruins your health after so long of not have good nights sleep.
Glad your having a beautiful sun shiny day there where you can get out and walk.
It is still raining here which I believe we are setting some kind of record of rain. lol
Can't complain though after the summer drought.
I do wish I could learn more about pinterest. I am now a member but have no clue as to what I am doing. lol
Love

I fall asleep in a minute or two and wake without an alarm at 5:15ish. I could use a nap as I hit a wall in the afternoon. My problem... being cold... most of the time.

So funny you should mention waking at 3 a.m. - you'll have to read my latest post about my cat at 3 a.m.! ha
Hubby suffers from multiple sleep disturbances and it has greatly affected his overall health; blood pressure, memory, ability to drive etc. Most people don't understand the importance of enough sound sleep.
We love to shop at Whole Foods and I like to go when I am not in a hurry and just enjoy the sights and sounds.
We are warm here today but expecting rain. Hope you have a wonderful day.

I know how good it feels to have a good nights sleep. Most of the time I turn into a pumpkin at 10:00 at night and some days don't wake up til 7:30 in the morning other days I'm up at 5 but it doesn't matter anymore now that I'm retired. Enjoy your day! It sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday.

Great post to ponder! I wake up often in the night, but lately it's because my dog shares MY side of the bed! :) He sure is hard to budge! I've always had low energy and loved naps, even as a teenager. Hope you have many, many nights in a row of wondrous sleep! BTW, I'm replying to my blog comments by e-mail now, but I don't have yours, Buttercup! If you'd like to send yours to me, I'll be happy to e-mail back. My e-mail is in my Profile! And oh..another BTW, thank you SO MUCH for your lovely comment. I'm glad it meant a lot to you.

I never have had trouble sleeping, but dh does. I could fall asleep with a cup of high test coffee in my hand!
It was beautiful today, I hope you enjoyed your walk and shopping!

I can SO relate!!! Thankfully, no more horrid night sweats, yet most nights I become uncomfortably warm, waking between 2-3AM. Just get back to sleep, then it's time to get up "for real" at 4. (Yes, I'm a big fan of late afternoon naps!)

Hope your afternoon was glorius!

I have always been a night owl, more comfortable to sleep in the morning, than at night. I'm glad you're getting your ZZZ's. They are very important, indeed. Take care.

Buttercup, I want to go to micheal's with you :):) I just clip a coupon for hobby-lobby.LOL. Sleep, what is that?? I have been sleepless for years. I look at the cat napping all the time and I have major envy..is that fair. I only nap if I am sick....I have not even been sick for 3 years. But I say that is a blessing.:)when I spend the night at my daughter's, that when I sleep right. 6 hours is total hibernation for me. xo, Susie

Hi - Some nights I get a great nights sleep, but then I have several times a month like last night. Woke up at 20 after midnight and tossed and turned until 2 am, not able to go back to sleep, so THEN I got up and looked at Pinterest for an hour!!!! terrible huh?!?! then back to bed and still watched the clock until 4 am. The alarm went off at 4:30 am for hubby to go to barn to ck on new piggies, and then I woke up, but semi rested until alarm went off again for me to get up at 6 am - had to play bells today in church.
I've been de cluttering this winter too. Still want to go back through things another time to get rid of more! I always think I can or will be able to use things too!
Another weekend almost gone! Have a great week, jo
