Soupah Fun!

My good friends at Kettle Cuisine are sponsoring one of the most fun contests I've heard about in a long, long time and I wanted to share it with my buddies in Buttercupland. The prize is a spring weekend in Boston, which sounds terrific as I listen to the winds whipping past my window. Here's the link with all the details and there's also a youtube video to help with entering. It's fun, easy and yummy! I'm having my favorite Southwestern Chicken and Corn Chowder for dinner. I love soup on a cold winter night and yes, I'm having a salad with it.

I like to enter contests and I couldn't not enter this one. Pepe went around the world to look for the best soup and of course, found Kettle Cuisine right here in New York City. If you're not entering please give Pepe a vote. You can use the same link. He -- and I -- would love to go to Boston this spring.

It's been a sweet Saturday. I had a good visit with my eye doctor, a trip to Whole Foods and our Bible study group met this afternoon. Now I'm cozy at home, about to make my chicken and corn chowder and visit blog friends. That's a sweet evening!

Wishes for a sweet and cozy evening!

That chowder does sound wonderful! I've been in all day except for some time shoveling the snow off the walks. It's just good to be inside where it is warm.

Hi again...just wanted to respond to your interest in Margaret Mitchell. Not far from me in Roswell, GA, is Bulloch Hall. Margaret (Peggy) Mitchell visited there for the newspaper 10 years before she wrote GWTW. Bulloch Hall was home to Mittie Bulloch, whom many think Mitchell might have fashioned Scarlet after. Each Dec., Bulloch Hall reenacts Mittie's wedding. It is one of several pre civil war homes that Sherman did not burn on his march to the sea. Here is one link and you also can google Bulloch Hall. Enjoy!

Gah it's so hard for me to have salad with soup. Sometimes I'd just rather have a bowl of soup and skip the veggies! Glad you had a great Saturday!

It's so cold today, that chicken and corn chowder sounds like the perfect Sunday dinner. If you could send some through a usb cable, that would be great :)

Greetings, NY buddy! I spy the Flushing Meadow sphere in the background there! Good for you, I love it!!!! I had many a great time learning to ride my bike there when I was little (my father would drive us there from Bklyn on the LIE and I cannot tell you how many grown-ups that I ran into on my bike on the paths. They'd be minding their business, riding their own bikes, and I didn't know how to stop, so I'd crash into them. Boy, were they mad, but had to pretend NOT to be since I was a little kid). As for the contest, I hope you win. I did click on to vote for you, but when I got to your box, I clicked and it said I had to sign in to Facebook and since I am the last person on earth to not have a Facebook page, I'm sorry I was not able to vote for you. :(
But I will go one better: I will say a PRAYER that you win! ;)
Good luck!
Best,
Gloria

There is something so comforting about having a pot of soup simmering on the stove. Have a lovely evening!

We've got TONS of SNOW,,,,,,well for here in Washington State! It started yesterday and this morning,,,,,just dumped and dumped!
(Again, we're wimpy, so 8 inches is a LOT for us!) We even closed Joyworks an hour early for lack of customers!

Came home and took the "Pups" for a walk/sniff and looking forward to some soup myself tonite!

(Always fun to find out what's going on in the BIG City!)

Hugs and Love,
Shell
