Cranberry Fest Friday

As a lover of all things cranberry I am reluctant to let my Cranberry Fests end. I had originally planned to begin my next themed Food Friday today, but I found some great recipes and my friends, it's all cranberry, all weekend!

It's thanks once again to Martha Stewart for the Mini-cranberry Meringue Pie. Isn't this a little jewel of a dessert? I still have over a pound of cranberries in the refrigerator and if I hadn't had a taste of a host of delicious treats at dinner yesterday -- home made Apple cake, blondies and chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin pie and pears with cranberries from last week's Cranberry Fest, I would be baking tonight.

I spent today with my friend of the greatest duration -- we met in nursery school -- and a mutual friend from high school. We had lunch together and walked all over Manhattan, including Rockefeller Center and Times Square. We had a wonderful time and I've got great pictures of holiday decorations to share. But first I'm going to stretch Thanksgiving fun for just a few more days. Please stay tuned, lots of New York at Christmas to share!

Wishes for a sweet weekend!

I spent the day doing a lot of walking too. 2 of my sons, my daughter and 2 grandbabies and one of my friends had a great day and the weather was just perfect. After watching the parade on tv I can only imagine the decorations there. I'l be looking forward to seeing them.

I thought of you as we watched the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. I was visiting my son one year at this time when he lived in Stamford. The week before the parade they had a practice parade in Stamford. They blew up the balloons and practiced walking with them. I was so impressed at how big the balloons are and how hard they are to handle. New York has to be the most fun place to be for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I can't wait to see your NYC Christmas. The year I was there we got to see the tree at time's square. We didn't go for the tree lighting the first night because it was so cold but we saw it the next day. You must love living there. I love where I live too but NYC is special. Enjoy every minute of the season sweet friend... and show us everything. Hugs, Lura
