Thankful in April...Thanks for Visiting New York!

Where Wall Street meets Broad Street

Thursday was a perfect spring day. I happened to be downtown -- for a fitting for my hearing aid -- and on my way to the subway found many visitors to New York City taking pictures and enjoying the spring weather.

A lot of people were posing for pictures with George Washington in front of Federal Hall. New York City's City Hall in the eighteenth century. The Continental Congress met here and Washington was inaugurated as America's first president in April, 1789. This distinguished building is now part of the National Park Service.

In doing my research for this post I discovered that National Park Week begins tomorrow. In honor of the treasures of the United States National Parks, what is your favorite park? It's a tough choice for me, but I am leaning to either the Grand Canyon or the Smokies. What's yours?

I hope everyone is having a great spring weekend!

My husband and brother visited the Grand Canyon last April/May and by far, that is their most favorite! Interesting info about Federal Hall; thanks for sharing. Hope you have a nice week.

Hmm...I really don't have a favorite park...unless you consider the Mall in DC...then by far my fave!

I don't know if I've ever been to a National Park. I know I've been in State Parks. I'll have to google where they are and check it out. Thanks to you I can visit New York...I do enjoy the pictures. I hope your Sunday is a great one!

I would lve to be in New York in the spring.... thanks for taking me there with your pictures.

I am in a different hospital. It will take some gettin use to but hopefully I won't have to be here too long. These 3 weeks in the hospital since our accident has seemed to go on forever. I am ready to be well again but they tell me it will take quite a while for 15 broken ribs to heal so I guess I will have to be patient.
Happy spring to you. Hugs, Lura

Being a Californian, I'd have to say Yosemite :-)
I do remember being pretty impressed with Haleakala when I was younger, on the island of Maui.
Have a blessed week!

It has always been a dream of mine to fly over the Grand Canyon and unless Sheilagh shares her lottery win with me I guess it will stay a dream.
Thank you for feeding my taste buds about New York. I am already excited about our trip - have a good Easter break xxx

Interesting stuff!
Am I too late to vote? Given my locale, you're not shocked to hear I chose the Grand Canyon as my all-time fav. Come see us! :)

I don't know about my favorite park since we haven't been to a lot of them - - but tell me about your hearing aid. Are you very satisfied with it or had you hoped for it to work better? I will be looking at one in a few years or less and don't even want to think about paying the price for one.

My hubby and I visited New York for the first time about 3 years ago. We just loved it there. We also went to Memphis and Nashville and Jackson. It was our first visit to USA and we do hope to go back there again sometime. We'd probably go somewhere different but definitely fly into New York first!
