Things I've Learned this Winter

 North from Bowling Green
 West to the Hudson River
Snowy Battery Park

Three lessons from this winter...

It's a nice day in February when it's not snowing, raining or sleeting.

It's a nice day in February when it's easy to cross the street.

It's a really nice day in February when the sun is shining...love these blue skies over lower Manhattan yesterday afternoon!

And a bonus lesson -- tucking your pants into your boots is the height of fashion.

Hope you have blue skies, too!

Ah, yes, utilitarian fashion. And people think that midwesterners don't have a strong sense of style. In fact they do, "survivalist chic!"

I know these views well, Buttercup, as my hubby works nearby. The skies were so blue yesterday, weren't they? Today it returned to winters grey. I'm hoping some snow will melt a little but not make the slush problem even worse :)

I hope the Feb. blues are having an away day LOL
My Feb. is turning out lovely...guess why ??? I had a PARCEL delivered this morning by the postman....from a certain friend in NY THANK YOU.....I am sorry to see that your snow is still lying around. Fingers crossed our spring seems on it's way. The snowdrops are out, Mary has a yellow crocus out...My willow tree by the gate is showing it's lovely "pussie willows" an dthe bushes are showing signs of new shoots. Just hope that the really frosty weather does not come back with a vengance...( we somtimes seem to get your bad weather 10 days or so later !!)
much Love and thanks Sybil xx

I love the photo's! Did you take those? I have never been to NY but want to visit one day.

By the end of February I always start counting down the days until the hummingbirds arrive in my part of Idaho :)

I really enjoy your photo's, please continue to share them. Once I am mobile again, I will be posting photo's from the beautiful Palouse...rolling wheat fields, peas, lentils, garbanzo's and canola aka Rapeseed.
Take Care~

I totally agree with all of your newly acquired education, on the month of February!!
We got three more inches today, but it's settled down tonight. Sigh...more digging out.
Am really looking forward to Spring this year.
The paperwhite blooms help, but...when one looks out... the fantasy is over!

We had our sun yesterday. I think we now have 4 more inches of snow today. Tucking pant legs in is fashionable where we live too.
