A Big Cheer for Turning Sixty...

The Norwegian Jade

Actually I am now closer to sixty-one than sixty, so this cheer seems a little belated. But one of my goals for sixty was to do a "big" vacation and share it with my friends from Hartford: Sue, Loni and Marla. The timing didn't work out for all of us -- though I still would like to do a trip for the four of us -- but Loni and I will be embarking on the beautiful ship featured above later this month. We first met over fifty years ago in our fifth grade class at the Rawson School in Hartford.

We will be visiting all new places for both of us -- Barcelona, Casablanca and Agadir in Morocco, Madeira and Malaga. I am excited about time to relax, time to catch up and visit and wonderful new sights to see. I've wanted to visit Barcelona for ages, and though we don't have a lot of time here, am so looking forward to seeing the architecture. I'm also looking forward to warmer weather. It's not hot summer weather, but anything over 50 degrees is summer to me. No boots!

Just a little over two weeks until we leave for Spain...I'm beginning to get organized and today I will take out my lighter clothes and see what I would like to bring. It's a busy two weeks...There's work of course, but also two weddings to attend!

We've got sunshine today and it's almost 40! Wishing everyone sunshine and a great Sunday.

How exciting! My husband was stationed in Spain and has seen a lot of the Meditteranian and to this day says that Spain was his favorite. Can't wait to see pictures.
Have a great weekend! Sue

Oh Sweetie...
Good Morning and I am SO thrilled to see that you are going to be taking your wonderful dream trip. Oh please, please drop me a postcard from each of your ports. You know me and postcards. I would be in heaven for sure.

I will be anxiously awaiting photos when you return and when I get to come home this year, I hope you will be able to pop down as well. I would so love to see you again sweet friend. What laughter we shared last Spring.

Be safe and I hope you are staying warm. I am fighting a really bad case of bronchitis, on antibiotics and trying to stay indoors and away from all who are coughing. It has been really cold the last few morning in the 20s and with no heat in the truck it has taken its tole on me. It is supposed to be warming up though.

Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Happy belated birthday Buttercup! Age is only a number and not a state of mind. What a wonderful way to celebrate! I've never been to Spain...but one day hope to see it, and it will be fun seeing all your photos when you get back from your trip.

Enjoy another sunny day here in NYC. Sadly we won't be watching the Jets play in the Super Bowl tonight.

G'morn, sweet Carol ~
..... and while you are basking on the ship in the sunshine with the sea lapping at the sides of the ship while you dine on fine wines & fabulous foods with the possibility of romance on the high seas ... remember WE ARE HERE STUCK IN THE COLD & SNOW!!!

Have a beautiful time, no one could deserve it more.

Love you, my precious friend.
Hugs, Marydon

Fantastic Buttercup! Couldn't be happier for you that it all worked out for this year.
Jim and I will be sixty in the fall...you've inspired me to think up something "grand" for us to do.

You'll have a BALL on this adventure. Don't you love still sharing with cherished friends from childhood?

I am part of six "Fab Fem" sisters who get together twice a year for girl time. We've been friends since childhood too.
