California, Here I Come!

I'm going to BlogHer '11
It's a not-so-balmy 18 degrees right now in New York City, up from 15 degrees. I'm pretty sure a crust of ice has formed on the slushy puddles in every crosswalk in Manhattan. But my thoughts are warm and sunny. I'm going to BlogHer '11! I'm so excited about two days of bloggers, workshops, chatting and I hope, meeting blog friends, in San Diego next summer.

In 2010 BlogHer '10 was held in New York, not more than two miles from my house. I thought about it and didn't make up my mind to attend until it was sold out. I went on the waiting list and waited. But the waiting list didn't open up and regrettably I didn't get to go. I'm not sure if the time is good at work or if I will have other commitments close by -- but in 2011 I'm not waiting. I signed up last week and I am dreaming of sunny days in California. I love San Diego and can't think of more fun than San Diego and bloggers. Is anyone else planning to be there?

It's been another hectic, snowy week in New York, but it's a nice weekend ahead. This morning the son of Bible study friends will be Bar Mitzvah, and our group will be together at services and the lunch following. Tonight there is a concert at our synagogue. Tomorrow is my annual holiday celebration with my friend, Mary. We actually do our celebrations after New Years, when we especially need something fun to look forward to. I'm very excited about this year's treat and will leave it as a surprise for a post in the next few days.

Tonight I announce the winner of the Happy One Hundred Giveaway. Stay tuned!

That is something to really look forward to and so is your celebration with your friend. This is the time of year it seems when we all need a little something extra. They say it is 7 degrees here this morning. Have a super Saturday!

Oh wow ... I wasn't familiar with this conference, but you bet-cha I went a-clicking that way. Color me HAZZED; ready to learn more in the coming days!
Tomorrow's observance makes me a bit nostalgic, when my own BFF and I would observe an "Annual" day of whimsy ... enJOY!

HELLO MY BUTTERCUP,
CONGRATULATIONS TO YOUR WINNER. WE AREN'T EXACTLY HAVING A HEAT WAVE HERE...THE NIGHT TEMP IS FROM 6-18 DEGREES, BUT WE HAVEN'T REALLY STARTED HAVING THE WINTER WE USUALLY HAVE...I FEEL IT WILL LAST THROUGH MAY.
WELL YOU ALL ARE LOOSING REGIS FIELDMAN, OPRAH WINFREY, AND LARRY KING.THEY ARE ALL SMART ENOUGH TO KNOW WHEN IT IS TIME TO GET OUT. PRAISE GOD GABBIE GIFFORD WAS LEAVING TODAY TO GO TO REHAB IN HOUSTON...I BELIEVED SINCE THE DAY IT HAPPENED, SHE WOULD BE THE OVERCOMER.

I love San Diego! It's wonderful that you will be able to attend the Blogher convention there in August.

I also missed the NYC Blogher conference this past summer, Buttercup. The price tag to attend was a little steep for me even though I wouldn't have to pay for a hotel since I live in Brooklyn. Maybe next time I'll be better prepared.

This has been such a snowy, cold winter, hasn't it? Truthfully, after the hot and humid summer we had in NYC this past summer I am enjoying the cold! :D

Wow, that's great that you are going! Too bad you couldn't go to last year's conference, being so close to you. Stay warm! (It's FREEZING here in CT so you are not alone!)
Best,
Gloria

Sounds like a lot of fun! I would love to go, but would never have the money to go that far away. Hopefully I can make it to a local conference soon!
