At least it doesn't look it.
One of my junior high memories is reading The Odyssey, or at least having it assigned to our class. I'm sure I read some of it, and also pretty sure that I didn't finish it. I vaguely remember the story and I think even if I had completed the assignment my thirteen year old self wouldn't have fully understood it.
But I was still very excited to see a giant Trojan Horse on Broadway this afternoon. The premier of The Odyssey film is taking place a mile from home and even though it was another VIP event I wasn't invited to, I was excited to see all festivities and the Trojan Horse that filled up one lane of the street.
The Trojan Horse of Broadway
While I didn't finish The Odyssey in 1963 I'm looking forward to seeing it this summer. I think I'm ready for it.
I'm off to Maine tomorrow. I'm looking forward to cooler air than New York -- we're back in the middle of 99 degree weather -- views of the ocean and one of my favorite ice cream stores. There will also be catching up with friends, lobster and fresh corn from farmstands. Time will go a little slower and I'll breathe a little easier. What a treasure!
Take care, friends, and keep cool. Enjoy a lemonade or iced coffee and hope your days, too, go a little slower.
As ever, thanks for visiting and take good care.
