First stop: Flourish and Blotts for our textbooks
On Thursday -- September 1 -- I was all set to begin the new month with a blog post. I got started, downloaded a picture and then my internet failed. I chatted with the Verizon folks and they assured me I would have service back the next day. It came back briefly, failed again and then again. I kept getting nice notes from Verizon, but that didn't give me back internet service. I was all set to do a quick post from my phone -- always a fallback -- but service has been restored and I'm optimistic it will stay restored. I'm saving the post I started last week for a later time in September. Instead we're going on a Pink Saturday visit to Hogwarts.
Traditionally, as Harry Potter fans know, the Hogwarts school year begins on September 1. Students take the Hogwarts express train from Platform 9 and 3/4 and enter the magic world of Hogwarts. My journey to Hogwarts on September 2 (yes, a day late) began with a subway ride and then a quick hop on the crosstown bus. I had an errand in the neighborhood, but didn't want to miss a few minutes of magic.
A quick stop at Madam Malkin's for a new school uniform
The last stop on Diagon Alley -- the cobblestoned shopping street for all things needed at Hogwarts -- was Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. I contemplated pygmy puffs and love potions, but decided that I was much too much a novice at Hogwarts to consider them seriously.
I hope you've enjoyed our visit to Hogwarts and are enjoying the holiday weekend. Friends in the west, please stay safe and keep cool.
As ever, thanks for visiting and have a good week.

Oh so happy that your internet was restored. We had a brief outage this week but it popped back up. I always enjoy seeing what you are up to! Love the pictures! Have a great Labor Day dear friend, HUGS!
I didn't have internet problems, but lost power yesterday. It was out several hours. No TV, no dinner, and no internet. What an interesting and fun post today. You have no end to wonderful places to visit there. Hope you have a restul Labor Day !
