It's Time for Iris and a Giveaway

It's time for Iris

With every new blooming flower of the season I think "This is my favorite." My favorite really is the lilac, but I'm partial to just about every other beautiful bloom I see. I've been delighted with the first crocus of the season and then the tulips, and now it's iris. I found these beauties in Riverside Park today and they are my new favorites. I know that soon the iris will be gone for this season and I'm going to enjoy them as long as they last. But I need to remember it's still early in the year for flowers and there are lots more to come.

It's also time for a giveaway

I haven't done a giveaway in ages -- or maybe just in 2020 -- but I have a set of note cards and stickers with pictures of Central Park that I would like to share. The "rules" are easy peasey. Please leave a comment with your favorite spring flower and be a follower of Buttercupland by 11:59 p.m. on Saturday May 30. I'll be posting the winner on Sunday, May 31.

What are your plans for Memorial Day? We're still in the stay at home mode so I'm sticking (as usual) close to home. The weather looks nice and I plan to visit Riverside Park and do some walking. I also plan to blog and be part of my Monday afternoon Zoom with friends.
As ever, thanks for visiting and take good care. Much love and wash your hands.

Geranium and Daisys! I received both for my bday, too!

Plans are to just love and care for Pa as long as possible.

I love all flowers but I guess if I had to choose it would be the daffodil.

I am happy to see your lovely photos today.

I am really enjoying your blog. I didn't discover it until you were almost finished "touring" the world. I am an avid armchair traveler so I was happy to go along for the last leg of the trip.

I don't really know anything about flowers, except that they are pretty, so I don't want to be in the contest.

I hope you have a lovely Memorial Day.

Your picture of the iris from the park is beautiful. My glads are currently blooming and they are a favorite of mine. I hope you have a very nice day.

A few years back I got into the purple/green trend, so of course your first image struck my fancy. So yep, I'm going with pretty little iris. :)
No special plans for the day here. Trying to stay cool INDOORS.

Here we are celebrating a grandson's birthday, 6 feet apart, but still I'll get to see him and wish him happy birthday in person! Its a beautiful day right now and we're hoping the rain stays away. Iris's are beautiful and seem to be part of our May Memorial Day celebration.

We have a lot of irises in bloom now in the small park near the riverwalk and the mill apt. All of them are purple, which is my favorite color. It’s great that you can walk in Riverside Park to enjoy these colorful blooms.

(((Cough cough))) We are still under "house arrest" here in the southern tier. I'll leave it at that.

My favorite flower? I dont have a favorite, I love all them...ok, maybe I am partial to roses. Hey, did Pep get married yet? (grin)

Very pretty. Mine actually bloomed this year.

Hard to choose just one, but I would say Sunflowers.

WE stayed close to home. Things are opening up here
at home and around us but we stayed in our area.
Nice and peaceful.

Wow, that is a beautiful capture of the iris. None of mine really did them any credit.

Good morning, did you know today is Buttercup Day? Yes it is, simply because it sounds fun! I love roses so they are certainly a favorite but I often think of my mom. She had the most beautiful four o'clocks in our garden. MY favorite aunt had lily of the valley. Flowers are so hard, they are all so lovely. Thank you for sharing your delightful photos. Have a wonderful day. xo
