He fought in the Pacific Theatre. He didn't talk a lot about his experiences as I was growing up. But back in the 1990s, I asked him to write down stories from his life and gave him a notebook. He filled it and half of another. I also have some letters that he sent home to his sister during his time in service. I treasure all of those.Tina Fariss Barbourhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15659018994558471570noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6930223252966474185.post-21796970273682604652014-06-06T14:35:18.926-04:002014-06-06T14:35:18.926-04:00This is a great post and we are indebted to all wh...This is a great post and we are indebted to all who served during WWII. My uncles and my husbands' uncles both served then from France, to Italy, Germany and the Philippines, but not one of them would ever talk about it. There were so many questions we had, but I knew better than to mention it. They all came home, some with injuries. Thanks to your father and all the others! At the time it seems like we will have so many days ahead together and it does not always turn out that way.
I often wish I had asked my parents questions of this time in history too.
Thank you to your dad and to you for sharing.
Blessings dear.
