It's (Once Again) Time for Coffee Light

But first a quick visit to the Chrysler Building,
the beautiful Art Deco building on the right

I was on my way to a medical appointment this morning (yes, Sunday morning!) and as I walked east on 32nd Street I looked north. There in all its Art Deco splendor was the Chrysler Building. Sometimes I think I've written about everything in New York already, but as I was putting this post together I'd never mentioned one of my favorite buildings.

On a totally unrelated topic, I've gotten Coffee Light and Mysteries (Mostly) Noir going again with a post about my trip to the Deadly Ink mystery conference in New Jersey last weekend. It was a last minute -- I booked my hotel room on the last day conference rates were available -- and totally fun experience. I was nervous on the train to New Jersey, as I was going to an event where I knew no one. But it was a lively and friendly group and I hope to return next year.

The rest of the day included lunch with my college roommate, grocery shopping and a visit to Macy's to peruse electric frying pans. I haven't used one since my graduate school days in Nashville, but I think that would be an easy fix for my no-gas cooking issues. I didn't find exactly what I think I need, so my next project is an internet search for the perfect frying pan. What are you doing tonight?

As ever, thanks for visiting and here's to a good week ahead!

That is truly a beautiful one-of-a kind building. A doctor's appointment on Sunday?? Maybe it was an office in the hospital...I had an electric frying pan about 45 years ago! And it is a wonderful idea for your problem!! You'll have to let us know what you buy. Tonight I am doing some church work, Sunday prayer requests.

Hope you got your electric skillet. I use mine for a lot of things and do a lot of one pot dinners in mine. They even make a decent pot roast. Interesting about that building and there being a doctors office open on a Sunday. That is one for the books for sure ! Would there would be more.

I think an electric skillet does a great job - you can cook eggs, french toast, a roast, chicken. You can make grilled cheese, and one pan skillet dishes. I'm sure you'll find what you need online, and then it will be delivered to you. No carrying an electric skillet all around the Big Apple! (grin)

I have a large framed poster of the Chrysler Bldg. on the wall of my upstairs landing. I got it at the Museum store on one of my visits to Rockefeller Center. It reminds me that I am a New Yorker even though I have not lived there in over 50 years.

Love that picture. It brings back many memories, and reminds me too that I'm a New Yorker even though I haven't lived there in years.

That is a beautiful view! Best wishes with choosing the right elec. frying pan. John brags about having one when he was a bachelor and how proficient he was at cooking things! lol lol
I signed up to follow along on your mystery/coffee blog.
I spent part of the weekend organizing closets!

Oh what beautiful buildings, I want to visit SO bad:) I love my Ninja cooker, it does stove-top, oven and slow-cooker. I think it was about $100 or so. Enjoy your day dear friend, I hope you find exactly what you are looking for. HUGS!

I want to go to New York - what a wonderful wonderful place. It just looks exciting. Hope you got your electric skillet. You know what I am looking for is a small pressure cooker - I don't think they even make them anymore! sandie

I have not been to the city in years. I went to school right there! That Mystery Ink thing sounds interesting-and I bet it was fun.

Thanks for playing along on the table setting. I will round that up this week. Hope you have a great Wednesday.

A beautiful image that gives this small-town grandma an idea of beauty that makes the spirit soar for those who take time to look and appreciate. And thanks for your comment on an earlier post of mine. Just resumed posting after several years of away from blogging. I still have a bit of relearning to do.

I so enjoy your stories ans sites of New York City, a city I love the most. My friend who I usually visit that lives out on Long Island has had 2 surgeries so I haven't got to visit for 2 years. I think I could fly in and get a room in Manhattan and get around by myself. I want to shop resale clothing shops my next trip.
I'm sure your train ride turned out just fine.
