Broadway Baby Pink Saturday

Broadway might be the most well-known street in New York City, beginning in Lower Manhattan and actually going all the way into Westchester County. I once worked at Two Broadway and I live one block off Broadway six miles uptown. It's no wonder I've spent a lot of time on Broadway. Much of my shopping, walking and bus riding takes place here. I took a few spring photos for Pink Saturday in order to capture the look that this Broadway Baby sees many days of the week.

One of my favorite paper stores was my first stop walking up Broadway...

...then the dƩcor at the soap store stopped my walk for a quick picture.

But it was the apricot torte that was the most appealing to me. I looked, snapped, but didn't buy. I put it on my list to return one day for a treat. This is one of three new fancy French bakeshops within two blocks. This is in addition to the Japanese crĆØme puff store -- really! -- and a Coffee Leaf and Bean. Starbucks is across the street.  So far I have been immune to the goodies in the windows and I'm making every effort to keep walking 99% of the time. I want my visit to be a planned treat. Maybe for my birthday...

Question for this Pink Saturday post: Do you have any treats planned for the spring?

Cold, but bright and sunny Sunday today. I made it to the gym and enjoyed the afternoon with my college roommate. We spent time looking at new apps for our iPads and I discovered several that that I hope will inspire me to drink more water. Jane and I met our first week of college in 1968 and have been friends ever since. If anyone had suggested then that we would have computers that we could carry around and we would spend time together looking at book websites I would not have believed a word, or understood what they were talking about.

Here's to sunny days, dear friends and the streets of New York. Wishing you all a very happy and blessed week.

You passed all those luscious desserts in those bakeries and went to the gym. You have my admiration.

I love these pictures as you walked along! I've not planned any special treats for springtime, though I will probably know it when one comes along.:-)

Love the looks of that apricot torte. But I must admit a Japanese cream puff sounds interesting. You have remarkable restraint given all the goodies available.

It would be a treat to window shop with you! I think it is a great idea to return for your birthday treat!

You are certainly a brave girl walking past all those goodies! Hee Hee! I wish I could find and duplicate my mother's cream puffs! She always made them during the Easter season. I found a recipe for a no bake strawberry dessert but I do not use Cool Whip! Just the word petroleum turns me away! So I choose the calorie loaded real whipping cream! I found a recipe for rice pudding with all the yummy fruits in it and someone who shared their recipe said the secret is to drain all your fruit so it is not so wet and than turns the rice pudding watery! I did that and my rice pudding was excellent! It was those pretty colored marshmallows in pastel shades that made it so tasty! I do not make it often but I do love it when I can! My son-in-law is from the Florida Keys and he loves Key Lime Pie but my daughter has to search and find the real key limes! He does not like imitation! We usually have cheesecake and one other pie for Easter but I think this year, we may just go to an early lunch and call it a day! Nick could not come home and Jeremy always has plans with Brittany so....Rebekah will undoubtedly spending a little time with us and Hannah, well she is as unpredictable as the weather! Noelle never shares her plans until the very last minute so these two 60 something hubby and wife may do own own thing and shock them all! Have a beautifu day my friend!
