Spring is Springing

Last Saturday I was in Union Square -- at East 14th Street. I'd spent the afternoon having lunch with friends and seeing a very interesting play, "The Scottsboro Boys. At Union Square there were feathers everywhere. I wasn't sure if there was a demonstration, but after checking with one of the many police officers that were there found there was a pillow fight. I was greatly relieved, but it was still much too crowded for the shoe shopping I hoped to do.

This is the sight that greets me when I emerged from the subway last night on the final leg home. I love spring!

On a very different note, my heart and prayers are in West Virginia.

  1. Coming from a small town I really like seeing your pictures of a place I've only read about. Spring is really starting to show around here too and there are many thing blooming, but none of the trees yet. Maybe by next week we'll see that. I appreciated your thoughts about the miners in W.Va. I will be praying too.

  2. Good Morning Sweetie...
What a beautiful site to see emerging from the subway. Those blossoms on the trees are absolutely exquisite.

A pillow fight? What were they doing trying to set a Guiness Record or something? That looks like a mass of people in the photo.

9 days and counting from today. I can't wait. Is it really coming? See ya soon sweetie.

Country hugs and so much love...Sherry

  4. I wonder why there isn't a song called "Spring in New York". By your pictures, it looks like it's lovely there.

  8. So much color, and so much beauty...does it make the city folks open up and smile at everyone?
Lots of broken hearts in WVA...so sad, and such an unregulated/monitored business~ it should never happen~

MY heart is so heavy too about these mine workers, they risk their lives to get coal or what ever for us, and those conditions are less then desirable, and the safety is always a concern. I pray the last 4 are alive. The trees are lovely near your place, I love blooming trees!!!A Giant pillow fight???? For what???? A very good cause I hope or for fun!!!!
    hugs,
